 Research Interests

Synthetic Organic and Medicinal Chemistry [main]

  • Discovery and development of small organic molecules and of natural product analogues/ derivatives (e.g. abietanes; polyamines; endoperoxides; retinoids; psoralens) with anticancer (Hedgehod pathway inhibitors; Cancer Stem Cell differentiators; Anti-angiogenic agents), antibacterial (against MRSA strains) and antimalarial activity.
  • Synthesis of Multitarget Inhibitors and of Hybrids or Bioconjugates aiming at improvement of the pharmacological profile of a bioactive compound

Mass Spectrometry [secondary]

  • Synthesis of labeling reagents (heavy/ light) for applications in analysis by Mass Spectrometry.
  • Solid Phase Synthesis of “chemical probes” for applications in Mass Spectrometry Proteomics.
